BANJUL INTERNATIONAL SURGICAL CONFERENCE

Advancing Emergency Care Through Simulation-Based Training

Our Permian iCELS simulation lab in Brusubi is at the forefront of advancing emergency care training in The Gambia, delivering immersive, hands-on Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS and ACLS) programs aligned with American Heart Association standards. Through high-fidelity simulation—including CPR manikins with real-time feedback, airway and defibrillation stations, and DART SIM software featuring realistic clinical scenarios—healthcare professionals develop critical skills in resuscitation, ECG interpretation, and team-based emergency response.

To date, we have trained over 50 doctors, nurses, and allied health providers from across the country, strengthening clinical readiness and improving patient outcomes nationwide. As we expand our reach to more institutions and underserved regions, our mission remains clear: to build a culture of preparedness, collaboration, and excellence in emergency care across The Gambia.

Critical Care Training in The Gambia

    FCCS Training in The Gambia

Permian Health successfully hosted the Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) course, developed by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). The course was attended by more than 30 healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses from hospitals across The Gambia.

This intensive program equips participants with essential skills to manage critically ill patients, including airway management, CPR, acute coronary and stroke syndromes, respiratory failure, and mechanical ventilation.

The course reflects Permian Health’s commitment to advancing medical education and strengthening healthcare capacity nationwide. Through a blend of lectures, case-based discussions, and high-fidelity simulation, participants gained hands-on experience tailored to the realities of healthcare delivery in The Gambia.
